Aerial Ropeway Khimti, Nepal

The Norwegian hydro electrical power company built a power station in the Khimti river in Nepal.
For the construction the needed an Aerial Ropeway to transport materials and personnel.
HMV had supplied an Aerial Ropeway for BKK at the Steinsland powerstation in Modalen.
This ropeway was dismatled, refurbished and sent to napal.
I was HMV’s project manager and carried out the survey of the line as well as the main
design and calculations. May task was also to take care of the contractual and financial
issues. I commissioned the ropeway and did annual technical inspections during the
operation.
The ropeway was designed to operate in a area of generally low technical competence and
proved its reliability to the satisfaction of the client.
During the construction period it operated 13 000 hours without significant problems and
was according to the client the most reliable equipment on site.

Employed by: Hordaland Mek. Verkstad.
